So, two days ago we safely arrived back home. Some minor things happened along the way though… The ferry from Dover was delayed because of the bad weather, and when we finally left shore the boat trip was pretty rough. At one point you couldn’t even walk straight, the waves were huge (and as a hobby surfer I couldn’t resist imagining myself riding some of them). Emanuel had to lay down on the floor for a while, just in case you know…
In Germany we got stopped by two suspicious policemen. We were a bit worried that they were gonna find out about our broken back lights, but all they wanted to know was if we were using any drugs, and as we didn’t they let us go. Lucky, lucky…
Yes! As you can see everythings’s fine with us. Tomorrow (or actually today) we will head for Brighton to do the last gig there! Good night, we love you
We had a great show in London last night. We played at club no fiction together with a band called phantom. Really cool and a bit progressive pop noir. Check it out! We stayed the night at LEONs house in the countryside outside oxford. This evening we will play in kettering at the keystone escape club.
During our autumn tour in October, Alana Da Silva did a short documentary with live footage from our show at Fängelset in Gothenburg (that we did together with LPG) for SPIN magazine’s new site SPIN EARTH.
Check it out (if the embedded player doesn’t work, click on the link above to see it!)
Dont miss our show at Kontiki in Gothenburg on tuesday February 24!!!
We got an email from an indonesian Radio DJ who found out about our music a while ago. He wanted to write about us and he really wanted an unpublished photo for the blog, so Sussie from LEON provided him with a few. I guess he fell for the picture of us looking more tired and depressed than ever :-). Anyway, if you’re up for some indonesian, check out the blogg: Music for fun!
The New York-based pop culture magazine Movmnt has featured a portrait of Alibi Tom in their latest Issue #8! You can order a copy from their webpage.
2008 was a very exciting year for us in many different ways. We released our first album, went on a nearly month long tour and got to shoot two videos! We released a few singles as well, two as a matter of fact. In the end of the year it is also time for almost every (swedish) music journalist to recomend basically the same 10 or 20 songs and albums as all their other collegues do. Amusing really, because we all knew about the songs radio has already played to death during the year;-). So, it is very refreshing when there are people who actually don’t take the easy way out and instead take their time to present the 104 best singles of the year!!! In Mexico there is a nice blog runned by handful of comitted people called away from here that actually did that. Fire is featured as # 44 on their top single list!!! Not bad!
Fire is also featured on another blog covering the best 20 tunes of 2008, of wich a lot of them are not known to everyone already (such as “fire” ;-)). The blog is simply called “The best of the year“!
